How do you tell the Sex of the kestrel?
The easiest way is to look at the banding on the tail. Most of the time you can see the banding on the tail when you are viewing them from the webcam. The female will have strips all the way down the tail feathers, where the male will have a single strip towards the end of the tail. This picture shows a female and a male American Kestrel. Notice the tail stripes.
